Road Signs

Traffic signs tell you what you must do, what you must not do and what hazards are ahead. Learning sign shapes and colours helps you react faster.

Key Rules

  • Regulatory signs show rules you must obey.
  • Warning signs alert you to hazards or changes in the road.
  • NO ENTRY means you must not enter that road from that direction.
  • KEEP LEFT means you must pass to the left of the sign.

Common Mistakes

  • Thinking warning signs are optional.
  • Confusing a mandatory direction sign with a suggestion.

Practical Example

You see a crossroad warning sign ahead. Even if you have priority, slow down, scan both sides and be ready to react.

Quick Check

  • What is the difference between a regulatory sign and a warning sign?
  • What does NO ENTRY mean?
  • What should you do when you see a warning sign ahead?
